    I think falling down a well / vertical tunnel of hands is scarier... and I may be alone in this, but the dance scene inside the bin lady's hovel creeps me out. I always found something unsettling about people losing their hold on reality.

      The hands are total jerks, but then her request to go down is OBVIOUSLY the wrong answer - who would say down when they fell in a hole? Most of the film is pretty nightmarish really, but in a loveable way.
