Musical Monday #81

Today I spent the entire day rather miserable because:

But then again, the other day I spent the entire day rather cheerful because:

So it’s swings and roundabouts.

And look, a number including both puddles and a squirrel.

  1. So many things I'd forgotten:

    * that there was any musical number in Bambi at all
    * how OTT big Bambi's eyes are
    * how scary a simple thunderstorm can be, in the hands of Disney...

    1. There are a lot less musical numbers in the older Disney cartoons than I remember. Allegedly Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs invented the idea of having the songs in a musical (film?) be plot relevant, and then other than The Jungle Book, they didn't really do full musicals until The Little Mermaid. Although apparently Alice In Wonderland has the most original music in it - it's just that most of the songs are only used for a line, so you wouldn't notice.

It wouldn't be a Disney hero if they didn't have eyes at least a third the size of their face. And damn right - that's where all the personality lurks.

Disney do scary forests generally - Snow White and Alice In Wonderland spring to mind.
